drones club soul of a spaceman

The latest edition in PMR Records’ Beat Club releases is a beautiful new song called “Soul Of A Spaceman” by London band Drones Club. The song features some excellent vocals/lyrics layered over an atmospheric synth-laden backdrop, and is sure to please. Stream it below.

Inspired by unorthodox creative collectives like The KLF or Spiritualized, Drones Club’s starting point is the social (or conspiracy, depending on your viewpoint) theories of someone like Adam Curtis, and the belief that humans have been numbed by modern structures of control. This has bled into the more melancholic, space-disco vibes of debut single ‘Soul of A Spaceman’, as well as the early imagery (which is really strong) and live plans – see gigs such as guerrilla storming of London Fashion Week, which you can see a bit more of here.
