ITZSOWEEZEE Spotlight Series highlights the incredibly talented DJs and producers that make up the ITZSOWEEZEE ranks, as well as our extended music family. Each month, we deliver a fresh mix that reflects the diverse style and flavour of our crew. This is an opportunity to “meet” our selectors, enjoy some amazing free music, and understand why we command the respect that we do.
After a one month hiatus, the Spotlight Series returns for its thirty-fourth edition, and we are proud to feature a high-octane mix from our good homie PhatCap! We first met Cap back in 2012, when he would travel long distances from Northern Ontario to Toronto as one of THUGLI’s most dedicated fans. Back then, we all wondered who this random dude was in the green room. Tom Wrecks explained that he had journeyed to see them play, so they showed their love by hooking up VIP access. Fast forward to 2017, and the kid has emerged as one of the hottest electronic producers in the city, with a following on SoundCloud that is 30,000+ strong. His hard-hitting tracks have been supported by heavyweights like Flosstradamus, Rusko, Boi-1da, 808 Mafia, THUGLI (of course) and many more. Running into Cap is always a pleasure. Despite his growing success, he remains humble to the core and is one of the friendliest faces in any festival crowd. On his contribution to the Spotlight Series, PhatCap provides a 30 minute sneak peek into one of his live shows. Heavy bass, stuttering drums, and energy are his signature sounds, and he delivers all three on this mix. Pump this at extremely high volume and you’ll immediately remember why you miss The Hoxton. Thanks PhatCap.

Been a while. Sorry about that. I know I annoyed a lot of people that generally chose to support my art. It wasn’t purposeful. I needed some time to get life in order. Nothing worse than hearing frustration in your own voice on wax. So instead, I decided to take time and build up life.
93 Tape is something I did over the past few days, just based on the vibe and all that. I haven’t put the pen down, and the art form may have been one of the only reasons I kept pushing fwd.
Thank you to Hip Hop, the whole culture, the beautiful people in it and surrounding me with positive love & energy. It made the difference between a dope day and a shit day.
Next time I release something, it won’t take years or whatever.
