LET IT RING!
Toronto’s DSTRY posse is back with “Blessings” by Omari Jabari. The track is a melodic hiphop cut featuring Teddy Fantum and G Milla. If you missed G Milla’s debut EP, LFDY, give it a spin in our previous post.

ITZSOWEEZEE Spotlight Series highlights the incredibly talented DJs and producers that make up the ITZSOWEEZEE ranks, as well as our extended music family. Each month, we deliver a fresh mix that reflects the diverse style and flavour of our crew. This is an opportunity to “meet” our selectors, enjoy some amazing free music, and understand why we command the respect that we do.
For most of 2016, we had the honour of presenting Spotlight Series mixes from a wide selection of our DJ/producer friends from cities as close as Toronto and as far away as Calgary, Milwaukee, Oakland, London (UK), and Rome (Italy). To kick off 2017, we decided it was time to bring the series back home and reassert why we hold our own family of DJs in such high regard. ITZSOWEEZEE co-founder, DeMiggs, has been hard at work over the past year throwing his own monthly events, working alongside liquor companies, and playing at many of Toronto’s local hot spots. On top of all that, he’s grown into one of the most steady contributors to this website, assisting with content curation and delivering fresh sounds to all of your ears on a day-to-day basis. With all of his projects on the go, he was finding it difficult to find time to deliver a mix that shows off his vast knowledge of music and his personal style. On this thirty-third edition of the Spotlight Series, DeMiggs packs in over an hour of heaters, ranging from hiphop to R&B to future bass to house, mixing together well-known tracks with a number of hidden gems. All the while, he’s made it a point to showcase Toronto talent, and put his love for the city on full display. Let’s give it up for DeMiggs as he provides the perfect soundtrack to start 2017 on the right foot.

I haven’t made a mix in over a year – no better time to release something new than book-ending the 2016 Spotlight Series collection. A couple of the tracks on this mix are from some talented friends you should be checking out. Also, listen for that “6” drop – it means your listening to a Toronto artist. Enjoy.
Be sure to check out DeMiggs live this Saturday, January 7th, alongside ITZSOWEEZEE’s beat sampras as they celebrate the one year anniversary of their monthly turn-up, COAST, at The Libertine (1307 Dundas St W, Toronto).
To say Dom Dias is one of the hardest working producers in Toronto is an understatement. In 2016 alone, we had the privilege of premiering and posting 10 of his projects, including some stellar originals, remixes, and EPs. On top of his musical output, Dom played some of the biggest electronic music shows in the city alongside heavyweights like Snakehips, Ookay, THUGLI, and more. 2016 has been a hell of a year for the kid, and he is closing it out by letting go of his (–/–/16) Throwaway EP. The release contains six previously unreleased original demos that Dom has been dropping throughout his sets, and vary from hiphop instrumentals to 128 BPM dancehall/baile funk-influenced electronic bangers. The best part about the drop is that it’s absolutely free. So, if you haven’t already become familiar with Dom Dias in 2016, now’s your chance to start 2017 off on the right foot. To Dom, we’d just like to say: may the new year bring you continued growth and success in both your musical and personal endeavours – we’ll be here to support as always!
