The yearly music menagerie of South by Southwest comes to a close this weekend and Toronto producer beat sampras (Bedroomer/ITZSOWEEZEE) decided to pay homage to some of his favourite artists that have been performing in Austin, Texas throughout the week with his SXSW 2016 Mix. The result is an almost hour-long, superbly mixed, collection of some great contemporary R&B and hiphop records that you’ll be sure to enjoy while you cool out as the warm Spring weather takes over. Artists featured on the mix include Kehlani, Tory Lanez, Little Simz, Kodak Black, Rihanna, Majid Jordan, Stormzy, Anderson .Paak, Jazz Cartier, Jeremih, madeintyo, Two-9, Mick Jenkins, and a LOT more, including a sexy exclusive from sampras himself. Just trust us when we tell you that this mix is fire and that you need it in your life.
As another year comes to a close, all of your social media feeds are probably flooded with year-end lists, and we decided to contribute with our own selection of the Top 25 Music Videos of 2015. After the jump, you’ll find some of the finest videos that dropped this year, from a very wide range of artists, including Le Youth, The Weeknd, Drake, Disclosure, Kendrick Lamar, and more. It’s not a comprehensive list, but it contains the videos that we thought were most creative, well-directed, and fitting to the themes of the songs. We hope 2015 was a good year for everyone, and wish you all a very safe and happy 2016! Cheers.

On Saturday, April 4th, UK emcee, and ITZSOWEEZEE favourite, Little Simz will be headlining an incredible show at the Virgin Mobile Mod Club (722 College St, Toronto), alongside our fam Junia-T (supported by the Juice Money Collective) and DJ Mensa. The concert, presented by The Academy and The Main Ingredient, will be hosted by Toronto hiphop stalwarts Crossword, Wan Luv, and Tika Simone. Little Simz has been making a lot of noise over the past couple of years, and her live show has been heavily praised, so it’s going to be a pleasure seeing her destroy the spot. We’ll definitely be in the place, so make sure you come through and build with the crew!
After a number of calculated song leaks, our good homie Junia-T finally drops his long-awaited new album, Eye See You, which contains fifteen amazing self-produced tracks that harken back to the glory days of hiphop. Soulful production, combined with raw and personal songwriting are the key ingredients to Junia’s latest solo effort, and I’m extremely proud that he’s released such a solid new project. Stream it below, download via Audiomack, and support the brova via Bandcamp (you’ll get a limited edition physical copy as a thank you). It’s definitely going to be a nice evening now that this is in my system.
