If you breathe air, you’re probably aware that Toronto is hosting the NBA All-Star festivities next weekend, and the city is going to be insane. We’re joining in on the madness by bringing you a special All-Star Weekend edition of ITZSOWEEZEE, and it’s going to be something that you definitely do not want to miss. Blessing the stage will be our comrades THUGLI, fresh off the release off their new single and music video, “SIC EM”. The city’s trap kings have been touring all over the globe, selling out massive venues, so it’s going to be special to see them return to Drake Underground (1150 Queen St W, Toronto) where they performed as a duo for the very first time. With support from DeMiggs and ΛV, you should already know how wavy the night is going to get. Come out and celebrate the success of our great city.
Our boys THUGLI (Tom Wrecks and Pat Drastik) have been having one hell of a week. After releasing both the audio and video to their new single, “SIC EM”, the Toronto trap duo took over Much Music yesterday for a special edition of their Curated By series. The guys put together a 15-track playlist of some of their favourite music videos – check out which ones made the cut in the playlist above.
Toronto trap duo THUGLI, consisting of ITZSOWEEZEE familia Tom Wrecks and Pat Drastik, accompany the release of their new banger, “SIC EM”, with an incredible new video. Last time the boys put out some official visuals (see: “Run This”), they received a Much Music Video Award in the process – let’s see if they can go two for two. For audio only, see our previous post and make sure you support the track on iTunes and Spotify.
Our brothers-in-arms THUGLI return with an absolute banger in the form of their new single, “SIC EM”. The Toronto trap duo may have outdone themselves with this one. Stream the record below and make sure you support it on iTunes.
“We had been wanting to flip this track for a minute. If you’re familiar with previous remixes we’ve done, we like to take joints that don’t bang hard enough in the club or in festival settings and breathe new life into them. ‘6 God’ just needed that extra “umph” so we decided to have a go at it. Hope you all enjoy!”
ITZSOWEEZEE Spotlight Series is a new mix series that highlights the incredibly talented DJs and producers that make up the ITZSOWEEZEE ranks, as well as our extended music family. Each month, we’ll bring you a fresh mix that reflects the diverse style and flavour of our crew. This is an opportunity to “meet” our selectors, enjoy some amazing free music, and understand why we command the respect that we do.
The tenth instalment, and year-ending mix, comes courtesy of our brother-in-arms, Pat Drastik, who also happens to be 1/2 of Toronto trap powerhouse THUGLI alongside ITZSOWEEZEE co-founder Tom Wrecks. Pat delivers an insane combination of tracks spanning a whole range of genres, with the intention of killing all competition. Not only has he been destroying venues all over the world with THUGLI, but his accolades also include being a Red Bull Thr3estyle champion, 3-time DMC champ, and all-around turntable wizard. You’d be foolish not to listen to this release.
This mix is basically comprised of joints I love that I’ve been feeling over the years. Lots of tracks that i wouldn’t normally play in a regular THUGLI set. Anything and everything from old blog house to Baltimore club to future beats, to rap shit to indie rock and back again. It’s definitely reflective of my personal taste and mixed the way I want to hear music mixed. Lots of accapella blends and word play mixes. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. 3hunna stunna

“We had a lot of fun working on this remix for Little Daylight. It was refreshing working on a song with a different feel than we’re used to and it was exciting for us to redefine our boundaries as producers. We’re very happy with the results and hope everyone enjoys it!” – via Discobelle
