“Your name’s not down, you’re not coming in.”
“Wot? Big man, I’m not tryin to cause no trouble yeah? CALL THE FUCKIN PROMOTER!”
London production duo, and past ITZSOWEEZEE Spotlight Series guests, Star. One come through with an absolutely banging new UK Garage bit called “PROMOTER”. The song will be featured on their forthcoming Blocks EP, which will contain three tracks showcasing three different genres: UKG, Grime, and Jungle. With the UKG offering being this nasty, we can only speculate how good the Grime and Jungle releases will be. Stream the track above and show your support via iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp.

ITZSOWEEZEE Spotlight Series highlights the incredibly talented DJs and producers that make up the ITZSOWEEZEE ranks, as well as our extended music family. Each month, we deliver a fresh mix that reflects the diverse style and flavour of our crew. This is an opportunity to “meet” our selectors, enjoy some amazing free music, and understand why we command the respect that we do.
For the twenty-fifth edition in the series, we are extremely blessed to share with you a mix from the mandem across the pond – UK producers, Star.One. Star. One are a sibling duo consisting of Blackz and Phaze, two London artists who have been making a name for themselves with their hard-hitting grime, UKG, jungle, and drum & bass creations. In 2014, they released their Elements mixtape, featuring UK emcees such as D Double E, Creed MC, G Frsh, P Money, and more, garnering the respect of established industry insiders and leading to support from prominent tastemakers through the BBC Music Introducing platform. Already in 2016, Star. One have released a massive remix of Section Boyz’ smash hit, “Lock Arf”, and just last week, we featured their new single, “Original Badman”, in collaboration with Jamaican superstar Agent Sasco (Assassin) and Zimbabwean hit-maker Takura. Now, the brothers use our Spotlight Series as a platform to showcase their ridiculous skills as touring DJs, with a 40-minute mix that is meant to destroy rave sound systems around the world. The energy level on this mix is through the roof, and it deserves to be played at high volume all summer long. We dare you not to get out of your seat from the moment you press play until the moment the mix fades out. Rate this. Trust.
We were getting ready for a club show over the weekend and recorded this mix as a preparation for the kind of stuff we were going to play that night, so it’s a mix of UKG, Grime, Jungle and Bass.

UK production duo Star. One connect with Zimbabwe’s Takura and Jamaican dancehall king Agent Sasco (Assassin) for a fiery new D&B/jungle record called “Original Badman”. It’s rare these days to find a track that merges the frenetic drums of D&B with soulful reggae vocals of the type that selectors would play in the early 90s scene. This record definitely captures that feeling and conjures memories of sneaking around my uncle’s house to catch my brother and cousins listening to “Original Nuttah” by Shy FX and Apache. A good education definitely starts with the youth and Star. One are definitely teaching a lesson with this release. Stream the track below and support via iTunes and Spotify. Also, stay tuned for a very special ITZSOWEEZEE Spotlight Series mix from Star. One next week.
